Watching TV On The PC - Now You Can Do It!

By Joanne Keith

Thanks to the modern technology, we can now watch satellite TV on PC and can do it without installing the ugly satellite dish or messing with cables. What's more exciting is that you can enjoy as many as 5000 TV channels at only a small one time cost.

All that you need to do is to install a special software on your PC, and you can enjoy the programs at any time you wish. You also need to have internet connection and preferably a broadband so that you can stream more quickly and have better picture quality.

As said, you have access to a big selection of TV channels in any category you can think about, such as movies, news, music, sports, fashion, and even documentary. Many of these programs are sourced from the TV stations in English-speaking countries, including CNN International, Espn Network, Discovery Channel, Show TV, Research TV, Comedy Central, and many many others. With a better satellite TV service, you get to watch TV programs from over 100 countries worldwide, including non-English countries such as Brazil, Albania, Bolivia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, etc. This means you are literally accessing around 5000 channels, although the qualities are not the same.

Most TV channels in North America and Europe (such as USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain and Frances) are available to your 24/7, but others run their own schedule.

To get the software for watching online TV, you will find that you have the choice between free ones and paid ones. Although free ones may be appealing to many people, they obviously have lots of downsides compared to the paid services. First, the customer support is very poor; Second, you only have limited channel choices and the picture quality is quite poor; Third, many of them come with questionable addons, which may either infect your computer or stuff ads onto your face when you are enjoying TV.

The paid services charge you a fee, but in most cases you will find it really worthwhile. They do not just provide you with better quality and wider channel choices, but also excellent support and protection against spyware and adware. Some services asks for monthly payment, but they are not necessarily the best. If you are lucky, you will be able to find good services that grant you access to thousands of TV channels for a one time investment of no more than 50 bucks.
