If you are wondering about its price, you will have to take a closer look at the wire. The flat HDMI uses the same materials that you can find in the round ones. The wires are just spread around so that it becomes a lot sleeker.

The second most common question that people often ask is about the quality. Since it is flat and has less wiring inside, is there a trade off when it comes to quality? Gold is more conductive, which make it carry data faster. Gold and copper plated are also available for the flat HMDI cable.

Are the flat HDMI cords durable? The flat ones use the same industry-standard plastic and rubber wiring that the rounds one use. In fact, the flat ones are more durable since it is not prone to wear and tear because of thinness. Wheels and other object will just slide over it while the rounds one get peeled off.

Some of the more expensive flat HDMI cords have UL/CL2 certifications, which makes it easy for in-wall installations compared to the regular ones. If a person purchases a UL/CL2 certified flat cable, wall installations will definitely be a lot easier. One can even hide the wire under thick wallpaper or paint.
