Linksys E2000: Is It the Right Router for Your Networking System?

Even though I love computers, they can be difficult to work with. With all the expectations of making your life less complicated, a computer, at times, seem to make your life that much more challenging. Even getting on the internet to download your email can be so frustrating once in a while. One way to help ease the internet connection annoyance is to make use of a router. Routers can provide more flexibility in your home or office. If you have several PCs at home, you will need a router to get them connected to the internet. With a router for your small business, computers can easily communicate with each other and get on the internet.

If you use a router, you simply need one Internet connection to your main computer, and then the rest of the computers hooked to the router. Apparently, there are many different routers available, all having different options at different price ranges. One specific router that is garnering a lot of accolades is the Linksys E2000. The Linksys E2000 is a low-cost wireless router that is extremely simple to use and outperforms the Netgear WNDR3700. You will be able to enjoy the advanced wireless-N technology with its wider range, making it ideal for large homes. The router from Linksys boasts of transfer speeds of up to 300 mbps, making it suitable for gaming consoles and other wireless devices. If you possess an hdtv or blu-ray player that is Internet-capable, you can link those to the router as well.

If you need something speedier than 300 mps, the router from Linksys has four gigabit ethernet ports for devices that can manage such speed (not wireless, of course). You can choose either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, allowing for easier file transfers and less network interference. The Linksys E2000 has Cisco Connect software which will assist you in setting up your network. Establishing your network security, such as firewall protection, is important to arresting internet threats. Visitors can be given access on a separate network to the Internet. This way visitors can be online without accessing your computer. In addition, Cisco Connect features parental controls that restrict what your family can view on the internet.

The Linksys E2000 fits in the middle of the Linksys E series network routers. This router from Linksys is suited for folks who need more than a bare bones router, but have no need for everything that comes with the top of the line. Majority of wireless-network capable PCs should work with the Linksys E2000, the only signal that is not compatible is 802.11a, which is no longer being produced. The layout of the Linksys E2000 router is common with four ethernet ports, one port to hook up to an internet modem and power port. If you are looking for a router, is the Linksys E2000 the best one for you?

This router is a good value in light of the fact that it has everything that you could ask in a mid-range network router. Since the router possesses a MIMO system, you get more bandwidth without the increase in power. Having the capability to change frequencies based on your work area is a fantastic benefit. The only thing that it has to have included was a USB port for a network drive or printer but it is not really that essential. The Linksys E2000 is a solid choice for a mid-range network router that will provide you a solid and hassle-free wireless network.
