When I Learned About Revenue Cycle Management Software, I Knew That We Were At The Threshold Of A New Era For My Clinic

I swear, we spent more time being bothered by claim rejections than getting any real work done before we invested in some revenue cycle management software. Our management was trapped in the old ways, so we did most everything we could on paper, which meant I had to deal with the grouchy copy machine, the always-on-the-fritz fax machine, and the surly guy who delivered the reams and reams of paper that we went through each month.

There came a moment when I gathered my courage and walked into my boss's office to tell him that I was fed up with the way we were doing things. The folks that I worked with would never have considered me a go-getter, but I figured that if I did not speak up, no one else would. I did some research about various ways to deal with this and found to my eternal surprise that there is software that is specifically designed to deal with these situations.

To my surprise, my boss actually listened to what I had to say and suggested that I create a presentation to explain how the software worked in greater detail. I was incredibly pleased with my new task and spent an entire day doing what I had been asked. As I did my research, some of my colleagues asked me what I was up to. I let them know about the software I was studying and each person's face lit up with excitement.

They told me that if I happened to convince the boss to get the best software, they would build a shrine in my honor in the breakroom. It was gratifying to see that everyone else wished to make the office function more efficiently. After a few days, I was ready to present a full comparison between the various programs, although I was careful to slant the report toward one certain program. When I perceived that he liked what I was saying and that I had him on the hook, I took it another step and pitched the idea of getting some web based Electronic Medical Records Software to streamline our organization even further.

It is a couple months later and I am pleased to say that we bought all of the revenue cycle management software that I suggested. We're making a lot more money and spend less time with the time-consuming things that besieged us before. The doctors are gigantic fans of our new way of doing things and I get a lot of acclaim for my efforts. For me personally, I have been given a raise and a promotion, and I'm glad to have made an impact.
